FLAGS
Below is a list of flags used by race officials and marshals here at Clay Pigeon Raceway
GREEN LIGHT
Start of Race
GREEN FLAG WITH YELLOW CHEVERON
False Start. The drivers must reform the grid and restart.
BLUE FLAG
Used to make a driver aware that anotherdriver is about to overtake.
YELLOW FLAG
A warning flag used to tell other drivers of danger ahead on the track. The drivers must not overtake until they pass the next marshal post not displaying the yellow flag.
YELLOW/BLACK QUARTERED FLAG
All drivers must slow down and form up behind the leader. The drivers must not overtake or race until they pass the green flag at the start line.
RED FLAG
The drivers, must immeadiately cease racing and proceed slowly to the start/finish line, until directed to stop by a marshal.
BLACK/WHITE DIAGONAL FLAG WITH WHITE NUMBER
THe driver being indicated by the number is being warned of a driving problem.
BLACK FLAG WITH ORANGE DISC, WITH WHITE NUMBER
The driver being indicated by the numberis being warned of a mechanical problem. They must return to the pits immeadiately.
BLACK FLAG WITH WHITE NUMBER
The driver being indicated by the number must return to the pits within one lap of receiving the signal and report to the Clerk of the Course. This usually indicates a major infringement of the race rules by the driver.
YELLOW FLAG WITH RED STRIPES
Slippery Surface ahead, e.g. oil spilt on the track.
WHITE FLAG
Ambulance or Service Vehicle on the circuit, or slow moving kart.
CHEQUERED FLAG
End of Race.
